A collection of brilliantly written poems. A compelling and heartfelt read illustrating the inner world and journey of severe mental illness to an eventual stage of recovery and hopefulness. Valuable to professionals, patients, carers and others alike. Highly recommended – worth every penny !

Simply written, personal and accessible

These are a series of simply written poems set at night time when the author is alone with her own thoughts. Some of the poems describe her fear, anxiety and despair and others come from a place of energy, joy and hope. The author is able to coax the reader to draw on their own experience of emotion as it is intensified by night. This encourages greater understanding of schizoaffective disorder in a way which is accessible, illuminating and intimate .

Amazing book, clearly written by a strong woman allowing the world a look in to her life and the struggles she has had to deal with. It really helps you understand how scary these mental illnesses are and I’m sure it will help a lot of people feel they are not alone in the fight against them. Well done Amanda reading this I can see you have come such a long way X

My daughter wrote this book for me. I may be biased but the feeling and emotion evoked nearly brought me to tears. I am honoured.
