Self harm and schema therapy

Schema therapy can help you to change negative patterns or beliefs you may have lived with for a long time. These patterns are called schemas. They can be developed in childhood or as adults. Some schemas that people may experience could be feeling, abandoned, vulnerable, afraid and very negative about the future

It looks at how schemas may have developed and lead to unhelpful behaviours, patterns of thinking and coping strategies. With help from the therapist you can learn healthier ways to think and respond to situations
